History
Roses, the town that marks the whole bay with the same name, is a beautiful seafaring town that has had a really amazing and surprising past.
It is thought that in the 8th century a.C. the Greeks found the
settlement of Rhode (now Roses) in order to trade with the native tribes. What strikes one immediately on arrival is the pure beauty of the place. After the second punic war, the Romans took power and charge
over the neighbouring Emporium. The downfall continued until the end of the Visigothic period.
During the middle ages they reconstructed the town and it grew with great importance until Carlos I declared a strategic interest.
